Brantham Cricket Club in 2012

In the recent past Brantham has seen a whole spectrum of cricketing fortune. In 2004 we were cruelly relegated in a restructuring of the league, but in 2005 we bounced straight back by winning Section C and losing out to Sudbourne Hall in the Cup Semi Final. More success followed in 2006, winning Section B and again semi finalists in the Cup, losing out to Wortham. 2007 saw us finish runners up in Section A (bowling Elmsett out for 29 on the final day) but this time winning the Cup, beating Wortham in a cracking final that players from both sides will remember for a very long time. 2008 saw a complete reversal of fortune, with comprehensive relegation despite dismissing Wortham for 20 on the final day. We also lost out in the Cup and Plate first rounds, getting bowled out for under 100 on both occasions. 2009 saw consolidation in the form of 3rd place in Section B and a steadier Plate performance, reching the semi final. 2010 saw another mid table finish and a respectable cup performance and the filtering through of the youngsters, playing in their second season in the Academy without losing. 2011 saw senior Saturday cricket in the form of the Suffolk Premier League.

Following a 3rd place finish in section B 2011, and a loss in the plate final, the new season in 2012 has seen a promotion to section A on Sunday following a league restructure, and also sees us enter a team into the 2 counties. A redevleopment of the Sports club at Brantham brings with it vastly improved changing facilites and showers,

We hope you enjoy your visit to Brantham
